The cycle WOODEN MASKS began in 1998, inspired by the folk legends of forest spirits, dwarves, as well as carnival masks that are a part of Kvarner local ethnographic heritage. Wooden masks, although highly stylized, have anthropomorphic forms. The working process starts by finding pieces of wood in which a person recognizes a face, then slightly processing the form, perforating the eyes or the mouth. The surface is engraved by simple and horizontal cuts and patinated with blue vitriol.
